1930s Coral Rock Village Offered to Visiting Artist during Art Basel Miami Beach MIAMI.




Nov. 29 2007 /PRNewswire/ - Urbaniza, an urban design, real estate, and financing firm, today

announced its artist-in-residence program at the Coral Rock Village, an historic landmark in

Coral Gables, Florida. Urbaniza invites a creative professional to occupy one of the historic

bungalows during the week of Art Basel Miami Beach.Gladys Margarita Diaz Jourdain, an

architect, educator, art supporter and founder of Urbaniza, created the program in order to

support the arts community and activity around Art Basel, and to bring new creative energy

Professionals in any creative field are encouraged to apply. The creative professional chosen

will offer insights for creating a work of art that can be integrated into the architecture of the

property. A selection will be made by Friday, November 30th and announced during the

week of Art Basel Miami Beach.Those interested in applying should provide information

"Coral Rock Village is a magical place that many creative individuals have called home since

its inception," said Gladys Diaz Jourdain, Founder and CEO of Urbaniza. "The intent of this

artist-in-residence program is to bring additional creativity and imagination to an

architectural legacy that continues to evolve."Coral Rock Village is a series of renovated,

description of the inspirational atmosphere Ms. Diaz Jourdain has brought back to life.

It also describes the history of the buildings and the extensive renovations. Coral Rock Village

consists of six bungalows, a four car garage called "The Ruin," a moat, a cave and a truly

Floridian coral rock landscape. In the 1930s, university professors lived there, and in the

1960s, hippies and artists called it home. It has been featured on HGTV, which called it The 2007 artist-in-residence hosting period is from December 4 - 14.
